Johnnie - I finally heard from Tim. He's fine - just busy. I didn't get commitment from him on Freedom Launch but he usually attends. When/If I know for sure I'll let you know. I am looking forward to seeing some nice Contrail flights from him also.

yep, it's dad's old Magnum from the early 90's, when an I357T had a bonus delay and zippered the airframe in the mid 90's. He pulled it out a little over a year ago and flew it at the Founder's Day launch last year on an I600R and the motor burned through the delay grain shortly after liftoff, causing another major zipper.

Let me know if you have any questions. Clark actually finished them and it's on the PMW website now, check it out.

Johnnie, as far as the beta goes, I guess it's been a raving success as far as I am concerned. Not knowing the market for a MySpace-type project, I don't know if the number of members is a good showing or not. But just the fact that it has worked as expected without many problems reported is good news.

As for your site, why do you think it sucks? I can offer these points about running a website and let you derive from them what best works for you.

A website can serve a multitude of purposes. Depending on what the purpose is that you are trying to achieve, it will determine the amount of time required to achieve those results. If you website is simply a repository for you to put information, it won't require much effort. If you want to create a website that gets lots of traffic, you'll have to determine how you want to accomplish that.

One thing I know, the only way to generate lots of traffic is to put someone in front of the viewer that they want to see and then change it often. If a viewer returns two or three times and the same stuff is staring them in the face, they probably won't be back. If you change the content daily but it's not something people want to see, they'll never be back, period.

Beyond that, you have to find tools to help reduce the amount of time it takes you to update your content, but even that is no guarantee that it's still not going to take significant time to keep the site up to date.

Many people would be shocked at how much time it takes me to keep Rocketry Planet moving even with the tools I have assembled to simplify the task. The site can easily absorb 8+ hours per day if I let it, and when you consider what I get out of it financially, it would be enough evidence to prove that I am retarded. ;-)

Hey Johnnie,
I made a copy this morning before I left for work and played when I got to work to make sure it played fine. I am sending you a copy of the Raw Footage instead of the edited version. I will send that one out as well when I get a change. You should get it tomorrow I would think.
