Well, at NSL I finally got tired of looking at everyone elses big toys so I bought a Smokin' Rockets Der Mega Red Max. I plan on going to either Red Glare next Spring or maybe Battle Borro in NC. I want to put it up on an "M" Skidmark but if not either an Aerotech Redline or an AMW Red Rhino.

I am limiting myself to $200 a month during the build. That keeps me off the credit card.... We'll see how that work.

More to come when I get started.

I totally feel for the budget thing. It's good because it really forces you to think creatively and ask, "Do I really have to build it that way?" Is that the fin for that rocket you are holding? The slots in the tube look too short for the TTW tabs on that fin. Then again I could be missing something totally obvious. Good luck on your build.

Yes, that's the fin and yes, the slot is too short. I plan on fiberglassing the airframe and then setting up a router jig to cut the clots all the way down so that the fin and aft airframe are even. I am currently working the altimeter bay because I am waiting for my glassing buddy to help me with the airframe. TIP: always read the instructions on new epoxy...that saves alot of time from scraping gooey un-set epoxy from your bulkheads...
