LOC Bruiser EXP Build

I've primed the fins with Krylon white primer and will paint them soon with fluorescent paint. Two fins will be red glowing orange and the third will be yellow. I'll paint the tube with Krylon Industrial Tough Coat Black Gloss. Tough Coat is a very tough coating and goes on very well. Two or three coats of this and it's almost chip proof.

LOC Bruiser EXP Build

I have got the fin fillets sanded and filled. All I need to do now is prime and paint the lower part of the rocket. I am done with the main section, ebay, and nosecone. I painted the cone red/orange fluorescent and the tube gloss black. I'll be painting the lower section tube gloss black also and will paint the fins in fluorescent green and yellow. I'll probably go with two yellow and one green. I think when I do launch this rocket, I will try to use a really bright colored main chute to go with… Continue

LOC Bruiser EXP Build

I have been working on my LOC Bruiser EXP for a couple months now and am in the process of sanding the fin fillets.I plan on launching the rocket at our next club launch to obtain my L2 certification. I'll be launching this rocket on a K1100W. I have not glassed this rocket as I don't think it is necessary for the motors I will use in it.

As of now, I haven't decided on a paint scheme for this rocket but am leaning on a roll pattern type much like the Black Brant II.

More to come...

Glad you liked the HoJos, one flew to 7200 feet on a 54mm CTI motor.

Addendum: Order a 29mm Sunward motor mount kit for BT80 tube and build your rocket with epoxy and you should have no problem flying 29mm G motors. If you want some rigidity for your airframe, you can add some tube couplers to the inside of your rock…

I built mine stock and have flown it once on an aerotech F24-4W. It flew great and there was no indication of damage. I would use a small wire tie to hold the engine hook against the motor case so it doesn't kick the case. That works good for me.
